I hear it all the time "Take it to the cross" Lord you took ALL of it at the cross. You know all I have done, and all I will do. You know every fiber of my being. Lord I read in Matthew, of YOU having to carry your cross to Calvary . So you had to carry "The Worlds Cross" and on top of that be crucified on that same cross to show us all the meaning of "True Love". It is so hard for me to try to comprehend that love you poured out for all of us.
Father God, through your son, Jesus Christ we find salvation. It is through his blood, and his pain we come to you. Emmanuel = God with us, and Lord I know you are with us. In one breath, in one shout to the creator of heaven and earth you said "Eli, Eli, Lama Sabacthani" ( My God, My God why hast thou forsaken me) and in that beautiful moment you gave us a gift. You gave us love. No thing can compare to anything on this Earth.
By all means we did not deserve this gift, this blessing this spirit that dwells in us. Look at Jonah. You called upon him to go to Ninevah. To help a town come to their senses. And to obey the Lord. To stop their evil ways and they did. So the Lord showed mercy and did not destroy it.
For some reason I feel as if this world is Ninevah. We do horrible things as people and yet the Lord's mercy shines down upon us everyday. It just blows my mind that the God we as Christians worship, love and praise, has so much love and mercy. I guess it just shows that we should always be looking and preparing for that day when the "Lord comes as a thief in the night." I watch the news and see all this strange weather and know deep down in my heart and soul that You are coming soon. Which makes my job as a parent more important. We need to teach our kids the Word. Study the Word. and apply it to our lives daily.
That little light inside us could be that lighthouse for those lost as sea. ( Life) Trying to find their way to Land. ( Christ) I thank him everyday for saving this ship lost at sea. Thank you. Not just for taking all of my sin. But for loving me, as the person you created. I praise and thank you. Love you more than I could say. And I know that someday I will see your face!
Amen
